The research group of Finance at JIBS is expanding and provide unique possibilities for new colleagues to contribute to the development. The research of the finance group at JIBS is covering areas such as sustainable finance, ownership and corporate governance, banking and regulation, real estate economics and finance, behavioural finance, entrepreneurial finance, computational finance and asset pricing.

JIBS is seeking a candidate for full-time permanent position as Assistant Professor with focus on Finance, starting as soon as possible. The candidate should have a strong interest in teaching and in doing research influencing both academics and practitioners. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, as well as a clear vocation for academia.

JOB DESCRIPTION 
The holder of the position will be a part of JIBS faculty. The work tasks contain teaching activities at Bachelor and Master level, research and other services to JIBS that are related to the position. The position is teaching oriented, and teaching is distributed over the different parts of the academic year and performed primarily in English. The Finance group delivers courses in particular for the master program International Financial Analysis and offer courses for other study programs in Economics and Business Administration, e.g., Corporate Finance, Business Valuation, Portfolio Management, Financial Contracts and Derivative Securities.

The holder of the position is expected to apply for externally funded research grants and contribute new knowledge that strengthen JIBS. Research and education in Economics and Business Administration are oriented towards JIBS focus areas (entrepreneurship, ownership and renewal). It is of high priority to have a strong academic and collegial milieu at JIBS, and presence at the job is expected.

REQUIREMENTS
You hold a PhD in Business Administration, Economics or Finance (or an equivalent academic competence). You have documented teaching expertise and experience and have taken a course in teaching and learning in higher education (or acquired the knowledge through experience). You have a strong research profile. Furthermore, you have proven abilities to interact with business and society and have demonstrated an ability to plan, organize and prioritize work effectively. You are fluent in written and spoken English and have excellent communicating skills.

It’s meritorious if you have:

- Teaching experience equal to 1 year FTE.
- Computational and programming skills
- Experience from practice in academia or industry/public sector
- Course coordination and development
- Experience from applying for and obtaining external funding
- Fluence in written and spoken Swedish

In the selection process, we will put emphasis on the person’s ability to taking initiatives, being autonomous and flexible as well as having the ability to co-operate with colleagues. You should be willing to contribute to a dynamic academic environment by spending the majority of working time at JIBS and be willing to get established in Jönköping.

We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Researcher who will investigate the interplay between digitalization, sustainability and/or globalization. 

To further strengthen our leading position in business and industry transformation research, we are looking for a Post-Doctoral Researcher who will investigate the interplay of at least two of the three driving forces listed about in their role for industry and/or business transformation at JIBS’ Media, Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC). The position is for two years with a possible extension.

WORKING TASK / QUALIFICATION
The position requires a PhD degree from a reputable university in a relevant discipline, for instance, business administration, economics, innovation studies, economic history, psychology, information technology or sociology.

As a Post-Doctoral Researcher, we offer you full-time employment. Most of your time will be devoted to conduct research and take an active role in the continued development of MMTC (80%). The remaining time is allocated for teaching (20%).

We seek candidates who have a strong wish to conduct high-quality academic scholarship within the scope of MMTC’s research areas. The main language of research and teaching at JIBS is English. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to be an eligible candidate. Skills in other languages, including Swedish, are a merit, but not a requirement.

The candidate is expected to have a strong international orientation. In making the selection, importance will be given to applicant’s qualifications in the following areas:

- Capacity and interest to engage in academic research at the highest level.
- A record of publications, especially in journals ranked in the ABS list, or a promising pipeline of papers targeted for publication in such journals.
- Personal networks and collaborations with researchers in an international context.
- Openness to engage in joint projects and activities with colleagues at MMTC and JIBS.

Interest and ability to teach university courses at different levels and to communicate with academic and professional audiences.
