About the position
Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is hiring four PhD students in Business Administration on a full-time basis (100%).

Starting date is September 1st, 2026, or according to agreement. As a PhD student you will be enrolled in a highly qualified education within a thriving research environment. We offer fully financed positions to our doctoral students who receive competitive salaries for their work as employees of JIBS. Most of your time will be devoted to your doctoral studies (80%) including coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The coursework consists of both mandatory and elective PhD courses. Remaining time (20%) is allocated for teaching and administrative tasks.

Qualifications
Admission to our doctoral program requires:

- Been (or soon to be) awarded a degree at second-cycle level (Master).
- Achieved at least the equivalent of 240 ECTS credits, of which a minimum of 60 ECTS credits must have been achieved at the second-cycle level.
- Achieved at least 90 ECTS credits in Business Administration.

The main language of research and teaching at JIBS is English. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English to be eligible for our doctoral program.

Job description
As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. Welcome to the department of Materials and Manufacturing.

We are a vibrant multidisciplinary research environment that advances state-of-the-art knowledge and fosters the development of highly skilled researchers and professionals. The department cooperates with various national and international research institutions and industrial partners and is engaged in basic and applied research projects. Co-production with industrial partners is a strong characteristic of our project portfolio, both with large companies and SMEs. 

As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and/or administrative work. 

This position is connected to a funded project (REACT) related to the design and durability testing of secondary cast Al alloys. The project aims at improving the durability and performance of recycled alloys and making them more tolerant to impurities and scrap mix sources. In this regard, alloy design strategies will be employed to control and minimize the effect of critical alloying elements coming from the scrap mixture and optimize the mechanical performance and durability of the secondary alloy in corrosive environments. Additionally, LCA and other sustainability metrics and criteria will be included in the selection of the alloy.

The project includes theoretical modeling based on thermodynamical calculations, physical metallurgy as well as a large experimental part that consists of preparing candidate alloy(s), characterize them from a microstructural point of view, and test them both mechanically and electrochemically.

The research will be carried out in close collaboration with researchers at the school of engineering at Jönköping University as well as industrial project partners.

Working towards development of cast Al alloys that are tolerant to impurities is an essential step towards using 100% recycled materials in Al castings that are used for a range of applications, including automotive.

Requirements
General entry requirements for third-cycle studies is that you have been awarded a degree at second-cycle level, achieved at least 240 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits must have been achieved at second cycle lever, or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or abroad. 

You need to have:

- Good language (English) and communications skills (both orally and written)
- Be result-oriented, motivated and willing to work on allied research project in cooperation with Industry
- Be creative and eager to share knowledge via publication in reputed journals/conferences
- Knowledge of metallurgy
- Have basic knowledge in data statistical analyses
- Practical skills in materials characterization

It is meritorious if you:

- Have experience in specific material characterization techniques: metallic samples preparation, SEM, mechanical testing, microstructural analyses of Al alloys.
- Have experience with thermodynamically based simulation software
- Have corrosion and/or electrochemical knowledge
- Have practical experience with electrochemical tests

The doctoral project "Supporting Individual Prosthetic Design Preferences (SIP-DP) – development and evaluation of an AI based patient decision aid" will be supported by a grant from the Swedish Knowledge Foundation and will be conducted in close collaboration with industry partners.

The project to be conducted by the doctoral candidate at Jönköping University aims to support shared decision making in consultations between prosthetists and their clients, with a particular focus on aesthetic design of the prosthesis. The project will involve identification of variables with the greatest potential to predict personal design preferences as well as development and testing of a patient decision aid to support shared decision making in the clinical environment.

The project is multidisciplinary involving a research team from the fields of prosthetics and computer science.  The doctoral candidate will be under the supervision of Professor Nerrolyn Ramstrand, Professor Maria Riveiro and Dr Mohummad Sobuh. 

Job description
This position is tied to working towards a doctoral degree. The doctoral project will be based on empirical data collected by the doctoral candidate at Jönköping University and at rehabilitation facilities in Sweden. Under supervision, you will carry out data collection using both quantitative and qualitative methods and contribute to development of an AI based decision aid, implemented a user-cantered design process.

- Developing and following an individual study plan while completing 60 credits of doctoral courses.

- Communicating and disseminating research results to different target audiences and sectors, such as research, clinical, and industry fields.

Job description
As a Post Doc you will be dealing with relevant research projects investigate different forms of ownership, the meaning of ownership, property rights, and ownership competencies. The governance area explores the interaction between ownership and corporate governance systems and bodies in different organizations, such as foundations or family businesses, with a disciplinary grounding in strategy, and/or organization and management studies. Relevant projects within entrepreneurship could be related to ownership aspects within the entrepreneurial process. Research projects focused on owners as entrepreneurial actors, that is, enterprising and entrepreneurial families, are also very relevant. Research projects can also combine governance and entrepreneurship lenses and, ideally, forge the link to pressing challenges that business owners face in the contemporary global setting.

The successful candidate for this Post Doc position will work closely with the CeFEO Director Massimo Baù and is expected that the research conducted within the frame of this position will lead to publications in top ranked scientific journals. An ability and interest to share research findings with stakeholders outside academia is also expected.

Most of your time will be devoted to research while benefitting from and contributing in person to JIBS’ vibrant research environment. Job description
As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and administrative work.

The doctoral positions are connected to a research project focused on industrial problems of controlling properties and defects which result during the manufacturing of cast iron components. Topics related to the problem are, for example: industrial production of cast iron, physical metallurgy, solidification of metals, heat transfer, and thermophysical properties. The research is conducted in collaboration with industry and includes experimental work, data analysis, mathematical modelling, project management and research communication. The experimental work may be conducted both in an industrial setting or a laboratory environment.

To ensure industrial relevance, it is important to maintain a wide perspective on the research, including environment, economy, and social impact.

 

Qualification
To be eligible for the position, you should have a Master’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials

Engineering or related topics, including at least 240 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits must have been achieved at second cycle level, or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or abroad.

- be excited to work in an international team environment with colleagues from both academy and industry,
- have a curious and innovative mind-set,
- have knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods,
- are familiar with physical metallurgy or thermodynamics,

- have hands-on experience with data analysis and model regression,

The Economics Faculty at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) is a highly committed research department with graduate and undergraduate programs.

The Economics Faculty hosts several strong research groups, including public/labor economics, regional economics, and entrepreneurship.

We are seeking a candidate for a Post Doctoral position in Economics. It is a 2-year Postdoc within a research project investigating the effects of digital tools in retirement planning.  Utilizing administrative data from the Swedish pension dashboard, minPension, and Statistics Sweden, the project seeks to identify socio-economic disparities in the utilization of Pension Tracking Systems (PTS) and evaluate the influence of PTSs on retirement choices. This project has garnered financial support from the Hamrin Foundation.

 

As a Postdoc your focus will be on conducting high-quality research and actively contributing to these research objectives and aims, as well as organizing project-related workshops and conferences. Teaching is provided in Economics at either bachelor's or master's level to a maximum of 20 per cent. The department allocates teaching assignments based on the candidate's preferences.

Nu söker vi två Doktorander inom supply chain till forskningsprojektet R3Wood!

Doktoranderna kommer att vara knutna till forskningsprojektet R3Wood som inriktas på att förbättra förutsättningarna för industriella trähusbyggare och företag i deras försörjningskedja. Målet är att trähusindustrin ska öka sin riskmedvetenhet och användningen av återbrukat material samt utveckla försörjningskedjorna för ökad innovationskraft, ökad tillväxt, ökad konkurrenskraft och övergång till en mer cirkulär ekonomi. Företagen i projektet är alla lokaliserade i Småland.

Projektet är uppdelat i tre delprojekt:

- Risk – Öka medvetenhet om riskfaktorer och sårbarhet i försörjningskedjor för att undvika dessa.
- Reuse – Öka förståelsen för försörjningskedjans påverkan på miljö och natur och sambanden mellan långa globala försörjningskedjor och risker, osäkerhet, och miljöpåverkande transporter.
- Öka leveranssäkerhet, minska materialbrister och bidra till långsiktig hållbarhet och resiliens, genom till exempel medvetna materialval och förbättrad kommunikation i försörjningskedjan.

De två doktoranderna kommer samarbeta, men vara knutna till ett av delprojekten Risk eller Reuse.

 

Den huvudsakliga arbetsuppgiften för dig som doktorand är att ägna dig åt forskarstudier. I detta ingår, förutom att bidra till projektet R3Wood, att läsa forskarutbildningskurser (motsvarande 12hp/år), publicera forskningsresultat och presentera en licentiatuppsats – och på sikt också en doktorsavhandling.

Förutom forskarutbildning ingår det i tjänsten även administrativa uppgifter samt undervisning inom närliggande områden, till en omfattning av maximalt 20%.

 

För tjänsten som doktorand krävs att du avlagt magister-, master-, eller civilingenjörsexamen med fördjupning inom logistik, inköp, supply chain eller liknande.

Relevant arbetslivserfarenhet är meriterande, likaså om du har svenskt körkort.

Vidare är du kommunikativ, lyhörd och samarbetsvillig, vilket är viktiga egenskaper då du kommer jobba i en forskargrupp, undervisa studenter, och i nära samarbete med flera företagskontakter. I rollen som doktorand krävs även att du är självständig, initiativtagande och analytisk.

Job description

As a doctoral student you will, advised by a supervisory team, carry out a research and coursework program awarding a PhD degree in computer science. Your research will be carried out within the research project Faster algorithms and lower bounds for non-monotonic reasoning, https://ju.se/en/about-us/school-of-engineering/organisation/departments/computer-science-and-informatics/faster-algorithms.html, funded by the Swedish Research Council, in collaboration with Linköping University and other partners. The project is situated at the intersection of artificial intelligence, theoretical computer science, and complexity theory. In addition, you will participate in education on bachelor and master level.

Main duties include:

- planning and execution of research, and dissemination of research results through publication,
- completing PhD coursework of ca. 90 ECTS credits,
- participating in education on bachelor and master level (at most 20 %).

 

Research project description

NP-hard problems frequently occur in many real-world situations due to their rich modeling power. Even though only superpolynomial algorithms are currently known, there is still a large practical incentive to find faster algorithms, and significant improvements over brute force search can in general be achieved.

This project will investigate superpolynomial algorithms for non-monotonic reasoning problems, with a particular focus on propositional abduction. Despite seeing many real-world applications, the precise exponential time complexity of abduction is currently a blind spot, and no improved algorithms are known for the NP-hard cases. A systematic attack will be issued on the complexity of abduction, and other forms of non-monotonic reasoning, by constructing faster algorithms and simultaneously investigating how close to optimal the algorithms are by proving new lower bounds under the exponential-time hypothesis. To study the complexity in a systematic way the constraint-based framework will be used employing the algebraic approach based on partial polymorphisms.

 

Qualifications

You have a master’s degree in computer science or completed coursework amounting to at least 240 ECTS-credits including at least 60 ECTS-credits from the second cycle in the field of computer science; alternatively demonstrated essentially equivalent knowledge.

Jönköping University has a clear international character, which also requires that you are fluent in written and communicative ability in English.

A strong track record on bachelor and master level studies is meritorious and we also value any background (education or research) in one or more of the following areas:

The research is experimental and carried in our laboratories as well as at our industrial partners production sites. Our studies are conducted in areas such as kinetics of phase transformation through thermal analysis, relationship between microstructures and mechanical and physical properties, fractography and structural mechanics.

The aim of our research is to develop knowledge about the relationship between material composition, melting quality, process, geometry and defect formation and their relationship to the mechanical and physical properties of the materials and components. This knowledge can then form a basis for mathematical modeling and simulation of cast components. Through modelling and simulation, researchers in materials and manufacturing can investigate different phenomena when it is difficult, or even impossible, to perform relevant physical experiments.

 

Job description

As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and administrative work.

The PhD position is related to the project climate-smart high-performance aluminium sheet that aims to make a deep analysis of identify critical trace elements and impurities that affect recrystallization and deformation hardening, directly correlated to both manufacturability, and creative process innovation. Topics related to the research are, for example: recycling of aluminium, metallurgy, solidification of metals, recovery and recrystallization, alloy design, and chemical thermodynamics. The research is conducted in collaboration with industry and includes experimental work, data analysis, mathematical modelling and research communication. The experimental work may be conducted both in an industrial setting and a laboratory environment.

To ensure industrial relevance, it is important to maintain a wide perspective on the research, including environment, economy, and social impact.

Work assignment
This position is within the field of sustainable products towards Tree Professionals. You will be working as an industrial PhD, located in Huskvarna, and you will be working in a larger European research project called iCircular3. This research project will have 8 more PhD students located at other companies and universities in EU.
A central concept to enhance sustainability in value chains is Circular Economy. To reach a higher degree of circularity, technical development is necessary. You will work in a project, where methods and tools shall be developed to monitor and gauge the health status of selected components of a product in the outdoor product industry. This will enable circularity in the product lifecycle.
The aim this project is to investigate and develop comprehensive digital twins of products from one product family of Husqvarna’s outdoor forest and garden products. The digital twin should contain data on the health status and remaining lifetime of selected components within the product. In order to accomplish this, you as a PhD student will use all the sensors and signals available on the products today. The analysed signals will be coupled with quality data to predict remaining lifetime of the components. Also, some extra sensors and tests could be developed, with the intended use at service workshops, in a digital tool to add additional information on the status of the components.
The comprehensive digital twin and digital tool could facilitate improved circularity of Husqvarna’s forest and garden product and to provide information to different actors in the reverse logistics (RL) chain. This work shall be conducted in tandem with other research work within the Reverse Logistics group in the iCircuar3 research project.
Since this project initially will be funded by MariCurie, there are certain conditions to be met. Work assignments

The doctoral candidate appointed at JTH will be responsible for a work package titled ‘Reverse logistics network design decision support system for end-of-life management of outdoor power products’.  Working tasks

As a doctoral student your key responsibilities will be to manage and carry out research projects within 36 months and write a PhD thesis. Furthermore, you will write articles for scientific peer reviewed journals as well as progress reports and prepare results for publication and dissemination via public lectures, presentations, and the web.

Your profile

The Department of Computer Science and Informatics (CSI) is one of two departments within IT and provides academic programmes in subjects ranging from software engineering and embedded systems to user experience design and cyber security and is also conducting research in associated areas. Our education programmes are developed in close collaboration with the surrounding industry and have a yearly intake of about 300 students. To further support interdisciplinary research, the department maintains a close relationship with its sister department: the Department of Computing, which includes the Jönköping AI Lab (JAIL). Job description

As a doctoral student you will, advised by a supervisory team, carry out a research and coursework program awarding a PhD degree in computer science. Your research will be carried out within the research project Faster algorithms and lower bounds for non-monotonic reasoning, funded by the Swedish Research Council, in collaboration with Linköping University and other partners. The project is situated at the intersection of artificial intelligence, theoretical computer science, and complexity theory. In addition, you will participate in education on bachelor and master level.

Main duties include:

- planning and execution of research, and dissemination of research results through publication,
- completing PhD coursework of ca. 90 ECTS credits,
- participating in education on bachelor and master level (at most 20 %).

 

Research project description

NP-hard problems frequently occur in many real-world situations due to their rich modeling power. Even though only superpolynomial algorithms are currently known, there is still a large practical incentive to find faster algorithms, and significant improvements over brute force search can in general be achieved.

This project will investigate superpolynomial algorithms for non-monotonic reasoning problems, with a particular focus on propositional abduction. Despite seeing many real-world applications, the precise exponential time complexity of abduction is currently a blind spot, and no improved algorithms are known for the NP-hard cases. A systematic attack will be issued on the complexity of abduction, and other forms of non-monotonic reasoning, by constructing faster algorithms and simultaneously investigating how close to optimal the algorithms are by proving new lower bounds under the exponential-time hypothesis. To study the complexity in a systematic way the constraint-based framework will be used employing the algebraic approach based on partial polymorphisms.

 

Qualifications

You have a master’s degree in computer science or completed coursework amounting to at least 240 ECTS-credits including at least 60 ECTS-credits from the second cycle in the field of computer science; alternatively demonstrated essentially equivalent knowledge.

Work assignments
Your work will include studying, analyzing, and developing knowledge around production systems and information management to support future demands on circular economy requirements such as remanufacturing and digital product passports. Strategic development of research within the Production Group is to contribute to a continuous analysis and advocation of industrialization aspects by directing research towards key areas such as flexibility, sustainability, information management, remanufacturing, and integration of product design and circularity e.g., design of interfaces between production equipment, products, and operators in a circular production system. Working with industrial partners is also included in the work assignment.

Qualifications

Forskarskolans övergripande syfte är att stärka svensk lärarutbildning genom att utveckla kulturellt möjliggörande undervisning där språk och litteratur är i fokus.

Lärare i alla stadier och alla ämnen behöver god kompetens inom språk och litteratur för att utveckla kommunikativa praktiker som inkluderar heterogena grupper, med andra ord alla skolelever.

Genom doktorandprojekten i CuEEd-LL utforskas hur både språk och litteratur kan stödja kulturell förståelse, literacy-förmågor och värdegrund i dagens digitaliserade svenska skola. Olika skolstadier och ämnen kan stå i fokus för doktorandprojekten, som ska knyta an till hur språk och litteratur används i meningsskapande, kommunikation och identitetspositioneringar. Research in Materials and Manufacturing focuses on material properties and manufacturing processes for cast materials.

The research is experimental and carried in our laboratories as well as at our industrial partners production sites. Our studies are conducted in areas such as kinetics of phase transformation through thermal analysis, relationship between microstructures and mechanical and physical properties, fractography and structural mechanics.

The aim of our research is to develop knowledge about the relationship between material composition, melting quality, process, geometry and defect formation and their relationship to the mechanical and physical properties of the materials and components. This knowledge can then form a basis for mathematical modeling and simulation of cast components. Through modelling and simulation, researchers in materials and manufacturing can investigate different phenomena when it is difficult, or even impossible, to perform relevant physical experiments.

 

Job description

The PhD position is related to a project cleaning molten aluminium to enable the use of aluminium with smaller carbon footprint in critical application. The main issues are oxide and iron bases impurities but also the be able to produce a material that can be used for dilution. Topics related to the problem are, for example: industrial production of aluminium, metallurgy, solidification of metals, heat transfer, and chemical thermodynamics. The research is conducted in collaboration with industry and includes experimental work, data analysis, mathematical modelling, project management and research communication. The experimental work may be conducted both in an industrial setting or a laboratory environment. To ensure industrial relevance, it is important to maintain a wide perspective on the research, including environment, economy, and social impact.

 

Qualification

In the construction industry, there is lack of a cohesive, integrated approach to design and production planning and control in which the complex dependency structure of the information is managed, and multiple monitoring systems provide real-time information streaming from the construction project.

This research project aims the development of a multi-faceted, multi-user, intelligent semantic, collaborative digital platform that integrates 3D (+) data from a BIM model and that can support dynamic workflows and planning of construction production and information exchanges within a distributed construction and design team.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A person meets the general entry requirements for third-cycle program at the School of Engineering if he or she has been awarded a second-cycle qualification and has fulfilled the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle or has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.

To be an ideal candidate for this PhD-position you are required to have a strong knowledge about the construction process and Building Information Management.

As a person you are self-driven and have a strong ability to work independently when required. You have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative research team.

Your communication skills in the English language are excellent both orally and in writing.

Qualifications
The admission to our doctoral program requires:

Arbetsuppgifter
I din roll som Post Doc kommer du under dina två år som heltidsanställd bidra till vårt Fortefinansierade program (Samskapa) som studerar samskapande som process och fenomen. I forskningsprogrammet utforskar, förbättrar och mäter vi samskapande. Studierna i programmet fokuserar på Mätning, Mekanismer, Medledarskap och Modeller.

Mätning innebär att studera resultatet av samskapande men även att mäta samskapandet som en process för att veta hur och i vilken omfattning samskapande har skett. Mekanismer handlar om att förstå komponenter i samskapande processer såsom delaktighet, delad makt och ömsesidighet. Medledarskap handlar om och hur chefer och ledare inom en organisation skapar förutsättningar och bjuda in till samskapande processer, hur dessa processer leds i praktiken. Vad är karaktäristiska drag och ur kan ledarskapet utvecklas. Vi inventerar både vilka slags modeller som finns och utifrån våra resultat utveckla nya modeller för olika sammanhang och stödjande redskap som främjar framtida initiativ för ökat samskapande.

Som Post Doc kommer du även bidra till undervisning på 20% inom masterprogrammet för kvalitetsförbättring och ledarskap vid Jönköping Academy.

Job description

As a doctoral student at Jönköping University, the working time is devoted primarily to doctoral studies. This includes studying doctoral courses, participating in scientific conferences, publishing scientific papers, writing a licentiate thesis and finally a doctoral dissertation. Up to 20% of the working time may be allocated for teaching and administrative work.

The PhD positions are connected to a research project focused on industrial problems of controlling properties and defects which result during the manufacturing of cast iron components. Topics related to the problem are, for example: industrial production of cast iron, physical metallurgy, solidification of metals, heat transfer, and thermophysical properties. The research is conducted in collaboration with industry and includes experimental work, data analysis, mathematical modelling, project management and research communication. The experimental work may be conducted both in an industrial setting or a laboratory environment.

To ensure industrial relevance, it is important to maintain a wide perspective on the research, including environment, economy, and social impact.



Qualification

To be eligible for the position, you should have a Master’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering or related topics, including at least 240 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits must have been achieved at second cycle level, or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge in Sweden or abroad.

Centrum för Oral Hälsa söker tillsammans med forskargruppen CHILD en doktorand för projektet "Får ungdomar med Downs syndrom den tandvård de har rätt till?”

Områden inom samarbetet är utbildning på grund- och avancerad nivå, specialistutbildning för tandläkare samt forskning och forskarutbildning. https://ju.se/forskning/forskningsinriktningar/child.html är en tvärvetenskaplig forskningsmiljö som undersöker barns behov, utveckling och framtid. CHILD bedriver nationellt ledande och internationellt erkänd forskning kring barn i behov av särskilt stöd.

Det aktuella forskningsprojekt syftar att undersöka om ungdomar med Downs syndrom erhåller den tandvård de har rätt till, med särskilt fokus på ortodonti (tandreglering) samt vilka strukturella och individuella faktorer som påverkar. Projektet sker i samverkan med forskargruppen CHILD, där också doktoranden kommer vara en aktiv medlem.

Projektet har även en internationell anknytning till USA och Nederländerna vilket kan innebära viss tid utomlands. Projektet är upplagt utifrån både kvantitativ och kvalitativ design, där data inhämtas från kliniska munhälsoundersökningar och granskning av tandvårdsjournaler, genom individuella intervjuer samt fokusgruppsintervjuer. Doktorandanställningen kommer vara placerad på Forskarskolan Hälsa och Välfärd, Hälsohögskolan.

 

Vi erbjuder dig
Den huvudsakliga arbetsuppgiften för dig som doktorand är att ägna dig åt forskarutbildning. I detta ingår att i enlighet med en individuell studieplan formulera och genomföra en avhandling i ovan nämnda projekt och fullfölja föreskrivna doktorandkurser.

The Department of Construction Engineering and Lighting Science offers graduate and post-graduate education.

The department has an active research environment with research focusing on knowledge-intensive product realization and digitalization (Building Information Modelling and Digital Twins). The highlighted expertise withing this ambition is expressed by two Areas of Excellence: i) Well-being and performance in buildings through lighting and ii) Digitally driven development and the built environment sector. We study the implementation and deployment of digitalization in the built environment. The focus is on the link between underlying structures in the context, mental models, or collective thinking, and the organizing of digital technologies for design, production and use of the complex products and services constituting the built environment.

The project that has been granted by the Smart Built Environment will employ a PhD student over a period of three years. The project focus is to develop a Blockchain-based DT platform for smart Asset Lifecycle Management focusing on novel O&M applications. This Blockchain-based DT platform will provide an integrated technology with transparent, traceable, secure data access and process visualization in a timely manner to improve, and significantly reduce, the time and costs needed to assess and manage the O&M process, transparently tracking of ecosystems' sets of blockchains which ensure trustworthy project data sharing.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The main objective of this PhD position is to develop and evaluate a Blockchain enabled Digital Twin platform prototype for the realization of full potentials of smart Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) in the digital ecosystem. The key characteristics, requirements, and systems architecture of the digital platform prototype for integration of Blockchain and DT in the digital ecosystem will be determined, the systems applications of the digital platform prototype to simulate and optimize the predictive cases autonomously and collaboratively for smart ALM will be established, and the potential values to be created for the facility operators, real estate agents, and end users (inhabitants) will be described.

The PhD candidate is expected to contribute to the following works planned in the project:

- The Requirements are defined, Use Cases are formulated, and reference scenarios are created, and technical specifications developed.
- The analytical platform for blockchain-based Asset Management Process, and Holistic Asset Information Model (AIM) using Business process modelling notation (BPMN) are developed.
- Blockchain-based DT system platform for smart ALM is designed, data analytics as a cognitive service for ALM is done, asset knowledge for cognition is created, and proactive asset management process are developed.
- Achievable levels of interoperability between DT, blockchain and smart ALM systems, will be tested and dynamically validated in pilot buildings.
- Dissemination and communication activities are orchestrated, business models for the blockchain-based DT platform are developed, and sustainability and standardization actions are executed.

To a limited extent, you will get opportunities to participate in teaching and/or supervising in first- and second-cycle courses to enable knowledge transfer. This should not exceed 20 percent of full-time work.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A person meets the general entry requirements for third-cycle program at the JU School of Engineering if he or she:

has been awarded a second-cycle qualification has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle, or has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.

To be an ideal candidate for this PhD-position you are required to have knowledge of the following:

- Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Digital Twins (DT)
- Building Automation Systems and Asset Lifecycle Management
- Blockchain technology
- Cognitive computing and related technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning)

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and with a strong ability to work independently when required. You have strong software development skills related to data analytics, data visualization and/or user interfaces (C++, C#, Python, MATLAB, Java, Solidity, Vyper, Go).

You have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a cross disciplinary research team. Your communication skills in the English language are excellent both orally and in writing. Knowledge of the Swedish language is meritorious.

It is also meritorious to have knowledge in Internet of Things (IoT) applications, data driven and data- intensive technologies and business intelligence (Facility Management sector).

Arbetsuppgifter
Som doktorand hos oss kommer du bli del i ett forskningsprojekt som handlar om AI-transformation i en industriell kontext och den organisatoriska förändringsprocess som företag därmed genomgår. Denna teknikutveckling kommer innebära att det kommer ställas nya krav på ledning och organisering och skapar nya förutsättningar för människor i arbete. Projektet som du som doktorand ska jobba i undersöker följande frågeställningar:

- Vilka mekanismer påverkar organisationers beredskap för AI-transformation?
- Hur kan organisationer proaktivt organisera sig för AI-integration?

Inom ramen för forskningsprojektet kommer du samarbeta med seniora forskare inom olika kompetensområden, som industriell ledning, organisatoriskt lärande, entreprenörskap, AI, etc.

Forskningsprojektet är en del i en stor satsning vid namn AFAIR som sjösattes vid årsskiftet. AFAIR är en tvärvetenskaplig forskningsprofil inom ämnesområdena organisatoriskt lärande, flödeseffektivitet och datadriven teknologi, i nära samverkan med näringslivet. Du blir en nyckelspelare i ett av de projekten som nyligen startats inom ramen för AFAIR.

Som doktorand genomgår du en forskarutbildning, som vid sidan av arbetet i forskningsprojektet innebär att studera forskarutbildningskurser inom områden som är relevanta i ditt specifika avhandlingsarbete.

Som komplement till forskningsarbetet kommer du till 20% arbeta med undervisning och andra avdelningsuppdrag. Vi avser att successivt slussa in dig i undervisning med understöd av erfarna kollegor. Under doktorandtiden kommer du ges chansen till mer och mer ansvar och utmaningar inom vår utbildningsverksamhet.

 

Kvalifikationer

The MMTC was established in 2003 with the aim of becoming a knowledge hub on the transformation of the media industries. Forskningen inom Material och tillverkning är inriktad på materialegenskaper och tillverkningsprocesser för gjutna material.

Forskningen baseras på experiment i laboratoriet såväl som omfattande experiment i industrin. Våra studier utförs inom områden som kinetik för omvandlingsfaser genom värmeanalys, kopplingar mellan mikrostrukturer och mekaniska och fysikaliska egenskaper, fraktografi samt strukturmekanik.

Syftet med vår forskning är att utveckla kunskap om relationen mellan materialsammansättning, smältkvalitet, process, geometri och defektbildning samt deras relation till materialets och komponenternas mekaniska och fysikaliska egenskaper. Denna kunskap kan sedan utgöra en bas för matematisk modellering och simulering av gjutna komponenter. Genom modellering och simulering kan forskare inom material och tillverkning undersöka olika fenomen när det är svårt, eller till och med omöjligt, att utföra relevanta fysiska experiment.

Arbetsuppgifter
Den huvudsakliga arbetsuppgiften för dig som doktorand är att ägna dig åt forskarstudier. I detta ingår att i enlighet med en individuell studieplan fullfölja föreskrivna doktorandkurser, författa en licentiatuppsats – och på sikt också en doktorsavhandling.

Omfattningen av andra uppgifter som undervisningen och administration får under anställningen uppgå till maximalt 20 procent av heltid.

Arbetet omfattar materialanalys inkluderande både kemisk analys, energiberäkningar, hållbarhetsanalys, metallografi och mekanisk provning.

I uppgiften ingår det att arbeta med skapandet av så god smältkvalitets som möjligt vid induktionssmältning och kopplingen till råvaran för smältning. Smältkvalitet med koppling till råvara och dess kvalitet. Syftet är att skapa en uthållig process med återvunnen aluminium och minskade smältförluster. Där med är metallurgi och termodynamisk analys en viktig del av arbetet.

Mätning och bedömning av smältkvalitet är en viktig del i arbetet och en rad med olika metoder kommer att undersökas inkluderande direkta mätmetoder som OES, densitetsindex (DI), Loop och termisk analys. Indirekta metoder som mekaniska egenskaper, Quality Index mfl. kommer att användas.

Kvalifikationer
För att vara berättigad till anställningen söker vi dig som har en magister-, masterexamen alternativt fullgjort kursfordringar om minst 240 hp, varav minst 60 hp på avancerad nivå, eller på något annat sätt inom eller utom landet förvärvat motsvarande kunskaper.

ARBETSUPPGIFTER

Arbetsuppgifterna som doktorand består av egen forskarutbildning som omfattar 4 års heltidsstudier (8 år på halvtid) enligt forskarskolan i Hälsa- och Välfärd, Hälsohögskolan. Arbetet kommer också innefatta övrig institutionstjänstgöring som universitetsadjunkt på avdelningen för omvårdnad vid Hälsohögskolan med procentsats enligt överenskommelse.

Arbetsuppgifterna som universitetsadjunkt omfattar undervisning och handledning inom främst sjuksköterske- och specialistutbildningsprogrammen, vilket inkluderar både teoretisk, praktisk samt verksamhetsförlagd utbildning. Dessutom ingår undervisning och samarbeten nationellt och internationellt inom utbildning och forskning. Vissa moment i undervisningen sker med hjälp av IKT på svenska och engelska utifrån ett projekt-/problemorienterat arbetssätt.

KVALIFIKATIONER

FORSKNINGSFOKUS
Doktorandanställningarna har forskningsfokus på att studera långvariga ohälsotillstånd inom primärvården där tydliga riktlinjer för vård och behandling saknas. Studera aktuell kunskapsnivå och effekten av eventuell okunskap bland vårdpersonal gällande vissa långvariga ohälsotillstånd inom primärvården, med speciellt fokus på effekter hos de som drabbats. Utveckla interventionsprogram för att underlätta livssituationen för personer med långvariga ohälsotillstånd inom primärvården. Studera samband mellan arbetsmiljö och hälsa/ohälsa, samt strategier för återhämtning.

ARBETSUPPGIFTER
Arbetsuppgifterna som doktorand består av egen forskarutbildning som omfattar 4 års heltidsstudier (8 år på halvtid) enligt forskarskolan i Hälsa- och Välfärd, Hälsohögskolan. Arbetet kommer också innefatta övrig institutionstjänstgöring som universitetsadjunkt på avdelningen för omvårdnad vid Hälsohögskolan med procentsats enligt överenskommelse.

Arbetsuppgifterna som universitetsadjunkt omfattar undervisning och handledning inom främst sjuksköterske- och specialistutbildningsprogrammen, vilket inkluderar både teoretisk samt verksamhetsförlagd utbildning. Dessutom ingår undervisning och samarbeten nationellt och internationellt inom utbildning och forskning. Vissa moment i undervisningen sker med hjälp av IKT på svenska och engelska utifrån ett projekt-/problemorienterat arbetssätt.

KVALIFIKATIONER
För behörighet krävs att sökanden är legitimerad sjuksköterska och har magisterexamen i omvårdnad eller motsvarande. Särskild hänsyn tas till de sökandes tidigare akademiska meriter, forskningsinriktning, möjlighet att självständigt tillgodogöra sig forskarutbildning och att framgångsrikt slutföra utbildningen inom fastställd studietid. Den som söker ska ha goda kunskaper i både svenska och engelska i både tal och skrift samt god pedagogisk förmåga. Särskilt beaktas om den sökande har erfarenhet av undervisning och handledning inom sjuksköterske- och specialistsjuksköterskeprogram.

Det är meriterande om den sökande har planerad och/eller påbörjad forskarutbildning, genomgångna doktorandkurser, inklusive forskningsplan med designade studier och utsedda handledare. Det är även meriterande den sökande har projekt där insamlade data kan presenteras. Vetenskapliga presentationer (exempelvis abstract, posters, orala presentationer) på nationella eller internationella kongresser ses också som meriterande.

JIBS is recruiting a post doc in media entrepreneurship for its Media, Management and Transformation Centre (https://ju.

se/center/mmtc.html) for a two-year fulltime position.
We are looking for a candidate with extensive practical experience from the media industries, profound practical as well as theoretical understanding of entrepreneurship and a track record of designing and conducting high-quality research.

WORKING TASKS
MMTC was established in 2003 with the aim of becoming a knowledge hub on the transformation of the media industries. Since then, its strategic scope was broadened to study the impact of the driving forces digitalization, globalization and sustainability on the transformation of businesses and industries.

The available position combines a focus on research within the area of media entrepreneurship, the organizing of international workshops and conferences within MMTC’s core areas, teaching within JIBS’ curriculum and in practitioner-oriented seminars, as well as administrative responsibilities to differing degrees.

QUALIFICATION
You should hold a PhD degree from a reputable university in business administration, completed no more than three years before the last date for application. You should be able to transform your research results into high-quality publications of societal relevance. Therefore, a clearly developed research agenda around media entrepreneurship aiming at top level outlets is meritorious.

Extensive practical experience of working in the media industries and with entrepreneurship is considered as a merit.

We prefer applicants to have a strong international profile and established an international research network. As this position includes the responsibility to organize international workshops and conferences, prior experience with organizing events is also a merit.

We expect that you are fluent in English.

Hälsohögskolan i Jönköping söker dig som vill bli doktorand inom ämnet hälsa och vårdvetenskap vid forskarskolan Hälsa och Välfärd.

Forskningsprojektet som doktorandanställningen gäller, ingår i ett större kompetens-utvecklingsprojekt med ett övergripande mål att överbrygga matchningsproblematiken som finns inom hälso- och sjukvård. Insatserna är kopplade till utbildning som ska leda till att anställda har en kompetens som används på rätt sätt. Projektet har en interaktiv ansats som innebär en nära samverkan med chefer, olika personalkategorier och deras arbetsplatser samt studenter under sin verksamhetsförlagda utbildning. I huvudsak kommer avhandlingen att baseras på analyser av data som insamlas genom enkäter, intervjuer och observationer.  

Arbetsuppgifter
Under doktorandtiden kommer du främst att ägna dig åt din forskarutbildning men det kan även bli aktuellt, i begränsad omfattning, att undervisa eller arbeta med utbildningsadministration. Varje doktorand hos oss arbetar utifrån sin individuella studieplan, fullföljer gemensamma doktorandkurser och arbetar med sitt avhandlingsprojekt.  

Som doktorand i det här projektet kommer du att arbeta med datainsamling och analyser av både kvantitativa och kvalitativa slag, med inriktning mot lärande i praktiken, sammanställa och presentera resultat samt skriva vetenskapliga artiklar.

Kvalifikationer
Vi söker dig som har förmåga att arbeta självständigt, är kreativ och nyfiken med stort intresse för hur människor lär och utvecklas tillsammans. Du har god samarbets- och kommunikationsförmåga, är noggrann, kan hålla givna tidsramar och kan uttrycka dig väl i tal och skrift på svenska och engelska.

- Avlagd examen på avancerad nivå (240 hp varav minst 60 hp avancerad nivå)
- Avlagd examen inom Pedagogik eller motsvarande, alternativt avlagd examen i Arbetsmiljö (ergonomi), Hälsa och välfärd, Medicin eller motsvarande är meriterande.
- Vetenskaplig metod (kvalitativa och kvantitativa) om minst 7,5 hp (avancerad nivå)
- Meriterande är om du har kunskap och erfarenhet av Interprofessionellt lärande, Förbättringsarbete, Handledning och Samskapande vård.
- Det är även meriterande om du tidigare har medverkat i forskningsprojekt, särskilt projekt med pedagogisk inriktning. Vi ser gärna att sökande har arbetslivserfarenhet från yrken inom hälso- och sjukvård och socialt arbete, men detta är inget krav för att söka tjänsten.

WORK DESCRIPTION
As a doctoral student, we offer a fully financed full-time position.

Most of the working time will be devoted to doctoral studies (80%) which includes coursework and writing a doctoral thesis. The remaining 20% is allocated for teaching and administrative tasks.

The doctoral student will be co-founded and will contribute to the Smart built Environment (SBE)’s research project “Measurement methods”. SBE is a strategic innovation program financed by Energimyndigheten, Formas and Vinnova jointly with partners from industry and public organizations.
The program aims to:
- reduce the environmental impact by 40%
- reduce planning and construction time by 33%
- reduce total construction costs by 33%
- enable new business logic in the built environment sector

In particular, the “Measurement methods” project aims to:

- Validate, measure and develop metrics to guide and to follow up the Smart Built Environments objectives and program stakeholders,
but also, that these results will contribute to

- Construction of new knowledge for scientific publishing, international appeal and relevant courses.

QUALIFICATION
As applicant you should have the equivalent of a master’s level by the time the employment starts. You need to have fulfilled course requirements of at least 240 credit points (ECTS credits), 60 of which should be at the advanced level. You need to have a strong knowledge about the construction process and Building Information Management.

Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and oral, is a requirement. We seek candidates who have the ambition to pursue an international research career. You enjoy and are stimulated by working independently with great responsibility as well as in a team.

It is meritorious to have previous experience in teaching or research. Bachelor, master’s thesis or work experience within the project’s subject, or have previous work experiences in Swedish companies active in the construction sector will also be a merit.

Arbetsuppgifter

Eftersom forskningen genomförs i samarbete med företag kommer du att vistas både ute på företagen och på högskolan. Villkor
Doktorandanställningen omfattar 100% med tillträde tidigast 2019-05-01 eller enligt överenskommelse. Anställningen som doktorand omfattar normalt fem år varav fyra år (80%) utgörs av heltidsstudier och anställningen förlängs årligen utifrån den individuella studieplanen. Lönen regleras enligt särskild doktorandtrappa.
